in October Alan came in to teach us about public speaking. when we first went into the room he was sitting in the corner and he was really dull with his greeting. then he made us all leave the room and when we went back in and he gave us the exact same greeting but he had energy and he was excited about it. this showed us what energy could do. first he taught us how to approach the crowd we were speaking to. he told us to have a strong walk, stand tall when we hit or mark and then smile to the crowd. he done a few excises to calm us down. the first exercise was standing in front of the class and making eye contact with people sitting down and say hello to them while following a person at the back of the classroom with their hand gestures. the second activity was that we got a word on a card and we had to try describe the word to the class without saying the word while describing it and the class had to try guess the word then. he then told us that we had to write a speech for the following Friday coming up. i wrote my speech on a pony i sold at the Ballanasloe fair. this work shop was very good.
